Valley of the Eagles, Yolyn Am

This beautiful scene greeted us as we started out trek into the valley.

Not surprising there are lots of small wild life, The Eagles and Vultures hunt them for food.

A dog in the valley.

The cold winds freezing water on the ground.

Some of the vegetation in the valley.

The long walk into the valley.

For comparison.

From Ulan Bator to Bayanzag

We again chose to fly instead of taking a long drive to Bayanzag.

The plane we took.

The domestic airport.

Large fields of blooming sunflowers greeted us as we left the airport. Mongolians love sunflower seeds and pine nuts as snacks.

Goodbye Khuvagul , Hello Gobi

On the last day it started to rain again on the morning we left Lake Kauvsgul heading back to Ulan Bator to pack and restock before we head out to Bayanzag and Gobi Desert. By now I have also found out that the best cure for any travel sickness is Chingis and thats what my guides would prescribe.

Checking in and baggage collection at Mongolian airports was pretty much a free for all affair. Nobody queue for anything at all.

Such awsome scenery

The rest of the week was spend just enjoying the beauty of the lake on foot or horseback.
